You are visiting this site for one of several reasons; you are thinking of moving to jobsite and want to get an idea of what the school is like for your child; you are interested in employment with MZIS; or you are an alumnus and want to catch up on old memories. We have designed this site with you in mind and while we are continually updating the site, we hope you are able to find what you need. Mt Zaagkam International School, although remote, is a school which is dedicated to providing an excellent educational experience for all children. We are able to accomplish this through our highly dedicated, experienced staff, a supportive and involved parent community, and a conscientious student body. Together, we all strive to achieve our school’s Vision of  “All students achieving their personal best”.

In order to do this, the MZIS community is dedicated to our mission and we “will provide the environment and opportunity through which each student will achieve their academic, social, and personal potential as a valued citizen in a global society”.

We are a small K-8 school of 135 students on two sites and we face enormous challenges in reaching our Vision and Mission. However, through the determination and dedication of all members of our communities, we enjoy a very good reputation here at jobsite, and our students have had tremendous success when they have repatriated to their home countries.

As you will find out from looking at other sections of the web-site, we group students in mixed-aged classrooms and use the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) as the framework for the delivery of our curriculum. We are fully accredited with the IB and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the US. We are also an active member of the East Asia Regional Conference of Overseas Schools (EARCOS).

Although small and remote, we offer a unique educational experience for students from many different parts of the world. The combinations of small class sizes and an experienced dedicated staff delivering a world class curriculum, make MZIS an ideal location to teach and learn.
